Danshell Sade Jamillah Evon, 36, has been indicted on manslaughter by a vehicle and other charges stemming from a fatal collision on Thursday, May 12 at the interaction of Connecticut Avenue and Atherton Drive that took the life of her daughter, Dreamie Dior Jackson.

According to Montgomery County Department of Police investigators, Evon, a Bryans Road resident, was driving her 2015 Kia Optima at a high rate of speed southbound on Connecticut Avenue on the day of the crash, before striking a 1997 Ford F-150, towing a utility trailer.

The Ford's driver was attempting to turn left from Atherton Drive onto northbound Connecticut Avenue before the crash, investigators said. Two occupants of the Ford pick-up truck suffered non-life-threatening injuries, as did two teen children who were passengers in the Kia.

Jackson was the only fatality reported in the crash.

In the indictment, Evon was charged with:

  • Manslaughter by vehicle;
  • Child abuse;
  • Child neglect;
  • Second-degree assault.

She was released on bond pending her trial. No return court date has been announced.
